The Nadi Airport Golf Club is often referred to as the home of Vijay Singh. Vijay was raised in Nadi. During his younger years he regularly caddied for his father and other club members.

As a young teenager Vijay became a regular figure on the practice fairway developing that incredible work ethic he is renowned for. His father Mohan was one of Fiji's first local golf club administrators and assisted in designing and constructing the NAGC course. Vijay’s brothers Mira and Krishna both seasoned golf professionals play regularly at the NAGC and remain avid supporters of golf development in the area.

Another famous golfing family borne out of the NAGC are the Chand brothers. Dinesh Chand is now based in Japan and is a high ranking Asian Tour Player.

Mukesh Chand and Salesh Chand are the only two local golfers having won the Prestige's Fiji Open, while Rakesh Chand is one of Fiji's leading amatuer players.
